An eventful start: in the future, the BUCHEN Safety Days will be held in the west region once a year
A successful start to the BUCHEN Safety Days
Exemplary safety standards are one of BUCHEN UmweltService’s key strengths. The company regularly adds supplementary initiatives to its safety management programme to further advance health and safety within its ranks. A new module has now been added to the list: the Region West’s BUCHEN Safety Days. These one-day events have already been held in Dormagen, Leverkusen and Wesseling.
A recipe for success: discussing real cases
The special feature of these events is that focus is put on discussing safety with operational teams. A total of 180 operatives were divided up into small groups that then looked at a variety of safety topics at four different Safety Day stations. These subjects ranged from tried and tested positive examples, to safety measures for complex work processes and how to react in the case of an accident, through to preventative safety measures, such as searching for faults before using a climbing aid. Looking at the big picture, these events not only helped to make the employees more aware about safety at work. They also created additional impetus for new and practical ways to further improve safety culture at work – prompted by the suggestions and feedback that came from the operatives talking about their everyday tasks.
