Various trades also pooled their expertise during the shutdown of the Finnish Neste refinery.
The BUCHEN and XERVON specialists offer services in the three trades of scaffolding, industrial cleaning and maintenance
This autumn, BUCHEN and XERVON worked together to support the planned interim shutdown of a refinery in Saxony-Anhalt. The specialists took on numerous tasks on the refinery site, which is 500 football pitches in size. XERVON's scaffolding, for example, provided access to the facilities and installed around 2,700 tonnes of material. BUCHEN UmweltService, another of the refinery's long-standing partners, began its work by shutting down the facilities. The BUCHEN team then cleaned various parts of the plant and helped to restart it at the end of the turnaround. XERVON Instandhaltung overhauled the heat exchangers, tanks, furnaces, valves and columns, including the centrepiece of the refinery. In addition, 40 pipelines were repaired. At peak times, the three trades were on site with around 400 skilled workers. Once again, the well-coordinated teamwork proved to be a particular strength.
‘Thanks to close teamwork, we were able to master even the most challenging time frames and complete the assignment with a work safety rate of 100 per cent.’
