The future doesn't just happen on its own – it's created where people meet, share ideas, and take responsibility. This can even happen in a single day, like on September 9, 2025. Eighty participants from the REMONDIS Maintenance & Services Group came together in Bottrop from all over Germany. The concept and goal: to network and understand how the specialized services at RMS work together optimally.
Ten stations, ten insights into technology, processes, companies, and trades: Employees take advantage of the opportunity to learn and get to know each other.
Managing Director Carsten Lange welcomed them: “We are delighted to have you on board. You are invited to help shape our path to success. We are all RMS.” This idea conveys the current understanding of values within the group of companies. It also outlines the future principles of the current and future working world: feeling welcome, working together—experiencing meaning and belonging every day.
Fulya Bozkurt, an industrial management trainee in the IT department, says: “For me and many of my generation, it's not the number of hours that counts, but what we work for and who we work with. We want to make a difference, identify with what we do, and feel good about ourselves. Even during the excellent introductory week for trainees, the team spirit and development paths were palpable. So I'm in exactly the right place here.”
The new generation is also inspired by this spirit. For example, Steffen Keiber from BUCHEN UmweltService in Karlsruhe or Xavier Rumplasch, a dual student of scaffolding at XERVON in Schwarze Pumpe. They met here for the first time and immediately agreed: “The tradition of the welcome day shows how we grow together as a group – both professionally and personally.”
What becomes apparent here shapes every RMS project on a large scale: a networked and close-knit corporate culture generates quality that customers can feel. Well-established interfaces, processes, and networks take into account the accompanying services provided by sister companies. Welcome to the new world of work!
Studies such as the Gallup Global Workplace Report 2024 show that only 21 percent of employees worldwide are actively engaged, while 41 percent experience high levels of stress. Regardless of the place of work, the quality of leadership and recognition are crucial factors. People-first leadership is now considered a key productivity factor. The younger generation also thinks along these lines: According to Fraunhofer IAO, young professionals in a world of work shaped by AI are primarily looking for meaning, belonging, and learning opportunities. Companies that embed these values attract new talent and secure long-term quality and innovative strength.
