No routine, no leeway, zero errors – what industrial cleaning really means: BUCHEN UmweltService Nord demonstrated this at the beginning of 2025 at the Stade Chemical Park, on an ND-521-A tank containing a highly reactive product. The tank was emptied under a nitrogen atmosphere to eliminate any risk of ignition. At the same time, a gas scrubber cleaned the exhaust gases so that no emissions were released into the environment.
The whole project required the highest safety standards, comprehensive monitoring and the use of ‘no man entry’ technology. For the first time, a digital Visic manhole guard was used as an additional, innovative safety component. The safety and implementation concept also included a complete black-and-white airlock, a temporary safety infrastructure with breathing air supply, and close environmental monitoring and documentation. And the approximately 700 cubic metres of cleaning fluid? It was temporarily stored and then disposed of properly.
Explosion hazards, toxic vapours, material damage: what sounds like an extreme scenario is a very real challenge in industry. Even the smallest residues inside a tank can react unpredictably – sometimes with explosive results. Or they can contaminate the next product and release toxic gases. At the same time, aggressive residues attack tank walls and pipes, promoting corrosion and material fatigue. That is why professional cleaning is required by law – and technically indispensable. Especially with sensitive media, cleaning is crucial for safety, plant condition and process quality. BUCHEN therefore always thinks ahead: down to the last detail.
„My vision: to establish BUCHEN UmweltService Nord as an established player in the north – with strong teams, new business areas and a clearly practised safety culture. And to further develop REYM as an innovative service provider – bigger, more visible, closer to new customers and locations.“
