VR fire extinguisher training
Virtual reality training makes it safer for employees to deal with fires
Not all fires are the same. Which means that it is extremely important, in an emergency, to know which fire extinguisher must be used and with what technology. To ensure this is the case, BUCHEN and XERVON employees can now also take part in virtual reality courses to practise how to react in such dangerous situations. The QHSE & Sustainability department has invested in a mobile VR Fire Trainer that simulates a variety of fire scenarios. REMONDIS Maintenance & Services is using this trainer alongside its conventional fire extinguisher courses for both its German and foreign subsidiaries.
VR Fire Trainer offers a host of benefits
Equipped with a virtual reality headset and fire extinguisher, the course participants enter an imaginary world where they must face and master a whole range of different fire events. If they fail to put out the fire, then the interactive exercise can be repeated as often as is necessary.
The training equipment can be used whenever and wherever it is needed. Thanks to virtual reality, these training courses are absolutely safe and a very useful teaching tool as they leave a lasting impression on the participants. The trained employees are, therefore, well prepared should they have to deal with a real emergency.
